I am Thankful and Grateful

Recently, I had a thought session.  I was wondering if I could be disappointed, dissatisfied; yet thankful and grateful all at the same time.  And, my conclusive answer is, Yes.  This is how…

First, I am very thankful and grateful to Word/God for life, health, and strength; and the ability and power to do what I must.  At the same time, I recognize the current state and situation that I find myself (which constantly changes).  Sometimes, that leads to frustration, dissatisfaction and disappointment; but, I work hard at NOT murmuring–

instead, I focus more on being prayerful.

I find that prayer/meditation and supplication, with thanksgiving (as the Bible mentions in Philippians 4:6) takes me outside of my problem and situation and allows me the space to breathe and think; and, in that space, I find peace. [Actually, my thanksgiving works best if I consider it more being appreciation.]

I’ve learned that it is ok to feel and work through your feelings, work through them and still maintain an attitude of gratefulness and thanksgiving.  The process allows me to “Be angry; yet sin not” because in the end, I’m still thankful and grateful.  It’s good to know that I don’t need to be hypocritical or fake in my walk with the Word.  If you are still working things out in your walk of faith, I encourage you to keep pressing, keep believing; keep being thankful and grateful. Selah.
