Today, Some People Came By The House To Ask A Couple Of Questions About Voting… It’s About That Time

It’s September 29^th and political folk are starting to make their rounds.   I had a visitor come by the house today—handing out voting materials.  Information about candidates running for office and such.  I live in North Carolina.  Did you know that early voting is from October 15-31, 2026?

I advise everyone to educate yourselves about candidates so that you won’t vote AGAINST your own interest like so many people did the last time.  Below, you’ll see several links to different websites (state and federal) that will have helpful information.

I’m a progressive, and I will be voting progressively.  I would usually say I don’t care how you vote.  But I do care. Because so many people got duped by the Republicans, but because the Democrats are Democrats—they “just can’t stand to vote for a Democrat”. 

How about this, vote for the people who support upholding your rights and will help in your time of need.  Healthcare, Social Security, FEMA –they are all

Social Security and its benefits are often discussed during the political season.  I thought it would be interesting to look up information about the program.  The links below go to some facts and statistical data concerning the program.  Yes, it was borrowed from; but they say the money was paid back—with interest.  Personally, I don’t think they should have ever “borrowed” from it in the first place. But things are as they are.

It is also interesting that Republicans are always trying to privatize it.  (That, and the US Postal Service.)  In my opinion, and the questions for me are: if it wasn’t any good, as they sometimes claim, then why would you try to privatize something that had no value?  And, who is asking you to do it?

It irks me when they try to make a dollar off of everything.  Somethings were meant to be a service for the people for the general welfare of all.  With most things, I am sure improvements can be made but all in all I think it is a great help to many Americans.   Anyway… see the links and descriptions below.  I hope they are helpful.
