Why is it that we pay for water…that we cannot drink?

More and more places are now handing out notices about water supplies you are paying for, but you can't drink.  And, we as sleepy Americans are walking around and just going along with whatever they say, as if it's normal.  Why?

 

Years ago, you could drink the water--safely from an outside water hose.  You could even have your own well in your yard without a problem.  Now, you pay higher prices for water that you can't even drink. 

 

Why can we not drink the water?

 

Many of the problems with water are caused by industrial waste, run off from hog and chicken farms, and possibly illegal dumping or ALLOWED dumping into our water ways and systems.

 

Who should pay for this?  Industry and the polluters who are causing the problems.  THEY should pay for the cleanup.    All that concentrated waste from big company farms are a problem.  What happened to individual farmers?  Or the organic farm which is able to

manage the waste from animals by recycling it or letting it be distributed evenly in a way that doesn't cause harm to the environment? 

 

There should be a different model of growing and producing food so that everyone can share in the benefits instead of a favored few.  In the meantime--the "favored few" should pick up the tab in cleaning the rivers and water ways.

 

Another issue is terrible management of streams, rivers and waterways, by local, state and federal agencies.

 

Throughout all of the storms, hurricanes, and fires billions have been spent for "cleanup".  But, you can't really tell by looking at some of the rivers and streams that haven't recovered. And, it doesn't look like much attention has been given to restore them to their natural flow.  So, where did the money go? In my opinion, more accountability should be required from agencies.  More spin off nonprofits and agencies is not the answer.

 

America is failing.  The people in charge of the government are failing.  We need change.

Is this a Voting/Election Issue?

 

This should absolutely be an election issue from now until forever.  Clean water is a necessity that should not have to be paid for.  Business destroyed water supplies for free; and they should fix it for free.  Let's make it happen.
