I Am Both Proud And Amazed! Good Job America!!! The Elections were Awesome!

I’ve been sitting, thinking, and taking in the election results over the past few days…😁ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

I want to say to all those who went out to vote and had a part in causing the change over, good job!  I am proud of you.  Hopefully this means great things happening down the road.

Even now, I don’t know about where you live…but here, the gas prices have been going down.  I don't know why, but maybe because “price gouging” is a thing that progressives and their Democrat friends believe should NOT happen nor be allowed.  Or maybe there is a sense that there might be more stability.  For whatever the reason—I don’t really care.  I’m just glad to see it happen.

Now that the elections are over, the work is still not done. As a matter of fact, this is going to be something that we have to probably add to our daily routine. And that something is checking on our local, state and federal governments. We have to, from now on, make sure they—the people we elected—are working for us.  Not, the corporations, not the billionaires.

Things I Hope They Tackle In The New 2027 Congress

Admittedly, there is a lot that needs to be done; and they might not be able to do it all in two years, but they can start and put a big dent in a lot of it.

1.       Medicare For All and/or The Public Option.  Back when

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Obama Care) was first enacted, there was a thing called The Public Option that was supposed to help keep insurance providers in check by having a government-based insurance option available.  It was even included in the 2009 House bill but was removed/omitted from the final ACA enacted in 2010. The new Congress should put it back in.  I really would like to have Medicare-For-All, that would be really nice.  I just realistically think it’s going to take a few steps to get there.

2.       Work on Shutting Down Corruption.  If Congress just ensured laws on the books were enforced, a lot of problems would start shrinking.  The self-enrichment by the current President, Republicans and some Democrats have to be addressed immediately.  “Claw-backs” might be in order, along with fines and jail time.  All of the “officials” knowingly violating laws and side-stepping procedures ---fired and possibly put in jail.  If a Soldier can get in trouble—the leaders who gave the order should also be accountable.  Just because Trump said it –doesn’t make it law.

3.       Put the Supreme Court in Check.  Speaking of laws… the Supreme Court needs to be handled. They need to be term-limited; a few of them need to be impeached, and again they need to testify before Congress.  Yes... they might have their own "code of conduct" but, They DO NOT GET TO WRITE THEIR OWN LAWS.  Congress writes laws.  So them saying they don’t have to follow the rules other judges have to follow…. In my opinion-–is bullshit.  Follow the laws that were written and either do the right thing and step down or be prepared to be held accountable.

My list is actually long…but I know the article is getting long too…so I’ll just stop with those three things.  If Congress could get in and focus on those 3 things daily… instead of making calls, begging for money and not doing their jobs—that will go a long way in getting them re-elected the next time and growing their majority in 2028.  Ok… What say ye?
